The most important aspect of the endurance chip is that it helps your waxed chain last longer between wax applications, up to 750km per application. That means not only will your chain stay cleaner longer but you'll speed less time waxing your chains.
SILCA Wax Additive EnduranceChip is a PTFE-based wax additive engineered to extend the effective lifespan of a hot wax application between re-dipping sessions. Where SpeedChip uses graphene to reduce friction to its lowest possible level, EnduranceChip uses ultra-fine PTFE particles suspended in the wax matrix to create a more durable film that resists breakdown from road spray, humidity, and extended chain flex. The result is a wax application that holds up longer in variable conditions, particularly useful for long-distance events, sportives, and rides where you can't guarantee the weather or know exactly when you'll next be able to re-wax.
Easy to convert factory chains to waxed chains just got easier..
I had 6 Factory chains and 3 on bikes to wax. It took me ~1.5 days to do 9 chains instead of almost a week of cleaning and then waxing for several different bikes. Used all the 6 chips allowed per bag of secret wax and finished off cleaning and then waxing the three other bike chains. Saved other bikes for another day. Not having to clean a bunch of factory chains is a huge time saver for as many as I had to do.

I was going thru chains and cassettes with an unsatisfactory level of frequncy. I also hated all the time I was spending on wiping, applying, and often getting rags full of dirty grime. With the wax system...my chain purrs...and I can wipe my chain with fingers and they come off clean! Before ordering, I actually went to the ZeroFrictionCycling website...where I was shocked to find the lubricant I was using was proba ly the worst choice of anything they tested. It is no wonder I was burning thru hardware. Silca products are amongst the best...and I am very enthusiastic about switchi g to a cleaner running driveline and being able to get a huge increase in driveline lifespan. A good investment in longer term savings.

SpeedChip. SpeedChip is a full synthetic wax produced from the same exotic base oils used in SILCA Synergetic. This is the absolute fastest wax ever used in a cycling lubricant, blended with 3 sizes of sub-micron and nanoscale Tungsten Disulfide platelets for further reduced friction and anti-wear properties. Proven in testing to permanent increase chain efficiency by up to 0.6% over SILCA SecretBlend hot melt, with the only downside being more frequent lubrication intervals required (see chart for more details).
One of the secrets behind Secret Chain Blend is that it's a mix of 4 unique types of wax and not just Paraffin like most other hot wax products. This blend of waxes along with our proprietary WS2 has kept the Secret Chain Blend on top of the ZeroFrictionCycling charts for the last 3 years with many competitors reformulating to get close, but none of them able to beat it.
The 4 wax mix has allowed SILCA to blend what we felt was the best overall mix of high performance, dirt resistance, and application longevity, but over the years as we've worked with professional gravel athletes, WorldTour teams, Olympic medalists and more, the request has come up over and over again to custom formulate waxes for specific events or situations. Rather than make an endless number of custom blends, early in 2024 we started shipping two different wax additive kits to our athletes and teams for testing new formulations based on their events and experiences.
The challenge in formulating waxes is that the fastest, most exotic waxes, tend not to last as long per application, while the most durable, longest lasting waxes tend not to be as fast. Rather than blending new and custom formulations for each event, we gave the power to formulate to the athletes, and the results they came back to us with have been incredible with more than 100 victories in WorldTour, Lifetime Grand Prix, the Olympics and many more!
This new system puts the optimization process in the hands of the athlete. Want a training wax that lasts 600km between waxings, you've got it. Want a race wax that's won multiple Tour de France stages, you've got it. Want the most insane TT wax for your 40km TT, you've got it.
