Convenience! My chain stays on the bike and its fast&easy to deep clean while washing. Put a oil pan under to collect the junk instead of going down the drain. Why do I want to mess around with removing the chain if I don’t have to? UFO Clean for $30 per 34oz has been a bargain and its lasted 18+ months and still more in the bottle.

I recently decided to switch to wax lubrication. We have 10 bikes. Six bikes were ready for a new chain...so, we used strip chip for the new chains. I had a few bikes that had used chains. I decided to use Silca Ultimate Chain Stripper to prep these for waxing. I ran them thru a wash of simple green, acetone, and denatured alcohol. Then physically wiped crud still showing on rollers. The final step was using the Silca Chain Striper...and wow! what a difference!!! I could see how much extra crud got removed...and a quick rinse and dry with compressed air...I was ready for Wax.

Utilized for first time on two chains, one brand new and one lightly used (without stripping mfg grease and/or applying lube). Worked well, does seem to leave a 'primer' coating prior to hot wax as touted. Discarded amount used after second chain but if it was brand new likely could have used it a few more times due to no contaminants. QUICKER/EASIER than ultrasound degrease and alcohol rinse as used and recommend by Silca prior to this product being available.
